Second Act Adds Burmese Food, Crepes to Lineup

Written By Unknown on Minggu, 05 Oktober 2014 | 10.00

Nine months into its run on Haight Street, Second Act Marketplace has already seen some vendor shakeups, with Community Craft, High Cotton Kitchen, and Spice Hound all departing, and Eatwell Farm's Ice Box coming in. The marketplace has now filled its latter two vacancies, as Hoodline reports. The first is Crepe La Vie, from Emilie Le Pessot, a former businesswoman who's left the corporate world to pursue her passion for crepes. She'll be offering 8-10 varieties, made with organic flour and split evenly between sweet (salted caramel, speculoos, chestnut-rum cream) and savory (tomato-mozzarella-prosciutto, eggplant-chorizo-feta) flavors. Expect Crepe La Vie to debut later this month.

The other new tenant is Burma Bear, which is going permanent after more than a year of pop-ups and festival catering. Owner Hubert Lim plans to offer barbecue that pairs with the Burmese dishes of his youth, like baby back ribs with biryani, tea-leaf salad, and pan-fried palata flatbreads. Burma Bear will softly open in mid-October, with a grand opening planned for early November.
