The owners of perpetually-packed Chicago Macanese hotspot Fat Rice are writing a cookbook. According to Publishers Marketplace, chef-owners Abraham Conlon and Adrienne Lo have landed a deal with Ten Speed Press to publish The Adventures of Fat Rice.
The restaurant itself has won many accolades, including spots on Bon Appetit's Best New Restaurant List of 2013 and Eater's National 38 list. Bill Addison — Eater's very own roving critic — is a big fan of Conlon and Lo's Macanese-style cooking. The duo is best known for their flavor-packed postcolonial Portuguese dishes like arroz gordo, piri-piri chicken, and noodles. While not many details about the cookbook have been revealed, readers can probably expect recipes loaded with spice. The Adventures of Fat Rice is slated to hit shelves in the Fall of 2016.
